El entrenador de los New York Knicks, Tom Thibodeau, ha sido elegido entrenador del año en la NBA, tras una votación muy ajustada en la que se impuso a Monty Williams, técnico de los Phoenix Suns y a Quin Snyder, de los Utah Jazz.

Thibodeau, de 63 años, ha sido el artífice de la reacción de los New York Knicks, que han firmado una de sus mejores temporadas recientes y volvieron a los playoffs. En 2011, a cargo de los Chicago Bulls, ya había sido elegido entrenador del año y de esta forma se convierte en el 10º entrenador que repite en este galardón.
